Budesonide belongs to the corticosteroid family: it calms swelling and irritation in the tissue it reaches, without removing the trigger that set it off. The form you choose follows the problem. Asthma and COPD (a long-term lung condition that narrows the airways) are managed with inhaled powder that goes straight to the lungs, to head off wheezing, chest tightness, coughing and breathlessness.
