Fungal infections show up in a handful of familiar places: between the toes, in the groin, under a nail, on the scalp or in the vagina. Athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm are the same family of skin fungus in different places. The range here splits into tablets and capsules that work through the bloodstream and creams or suppositories that act where they are applied.
Fluconazole (50mg to 400mg) and Diflucan (50mg to 200mg) are the thrush tablets; a single 150mg dose is the standard course for vaginal thrush, and the same drug is licensed for cryptococcal meningitis, a fungal infection around the brain.
Terbinafine and Lamisil, both 250mg, go after fungal nail infections, athlete's foot and ringworm. Nail courses run for weeks to months, because the infected nail has to grow out, and terbinafine can occasionally affect the liver, which is why long courses are watched. Itraconazole capsules (100mg and 200mg, plus Sporanox 100mg) cover nail fungus and wider fungal infections, and they are taken straight after a full meal so they absorb properly.
Griseofulvin is the older ringworm tablet for skin, hair and nails, listed in 250mg as Fulvicin (also sold as Griseofulvin, Grifulvin, Grisactin and Gresiofulvin) and Grifulvin V. A fatty meal helps it absorb.
Two tablets are for serious infection. Ketoconazole and Nizoral 200mg tablets are reserved for severe fungal infections because they can, rarely, harm the liver. Voriconazole and Vfend 200mg treat invasive aspergillosis, a mould infection of the lungs, and can make skin burn easily in sun.
For athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm, Clotrimazole cream (15g tube) is the plain, familiar option. Miconazole comes as Miconazole 2%, Micogel 2% and Micatin. Nizoral Cream is ketoconazole 2%, which is also used on seborrhoeic dermatitis, a flaky, itchy skin condition. Luzu 1% (luliconazole) is a 30g tube applied once a day for a week or two.
Where the skin is red and inflamed as well as infected, Lotrisone, also sold as Betamethasone / Clotrimazole, adds a steroid to calm the irritation while the antifungal works. Keep applying any of these for the full time even when the rash looks gone, because stopping early is how it comes back. Creams treat skin; a fungal nail or scalp infection needs a tablet.
Thrush has three routes here. Fluconazole is the one-dose tablet. Lomexin Cream (fenticonazole, 30g) treats the skin outside the vagina, and Lomexin 600mg is the vaginal suppository (fenticonazole nitrate).
PockDose sells fluconazole and generic Diflucan tablets, terbinafine and generic Lamisil tablets, itraconazole capsules, plus clotrimazole, miconazole and generic Lotrisone creams. You can also choose Lomexin suppositories, generic Lomexin Cream, generic Nizoral Cream and generic Luzu tubes. Tablets come in several strengths, while creams and suppositories cover skin and vaginal fungal infections.

You can pick generic fluconazole or generic Diflucan, generic terbinafine or generic Lamisil.

Longer than most people expect, because the nail must grow out. Toenail courses commonly run about 12 weeks, and the nail may look unhealthy for months afterwards. Fingernails usually grow out faster than toenails.
For a first bout of vaginal thrush, yes: a single 150mg dose is the standard course. Itching can take a few days to fade. Thrush that keeps returning gets a longer schedule instead.
Yes, straight after a full meal. Food and stomach acid help the capsule dissolve, and on an empty stomach much less of the drug is absorbed.
Yes. Beyond athlete's foot, ringworm and jock itch, the 2% cream is used on seborrhoeic dermatitis, the flaky, itchy rash that settles on the scalp, face or chest.
