Avana is avanafil, a tablet in the PDE5 inhibitor group. It is taken for erectile dysfunction — when an erection is hard to achieve or does not last long enough for sex. Arousal sends a signal that relaxes the arteries in the penis and lets blood in, and an enzyme called PDE5 would normally switch that signal off. Avanafil slows the enzyme down for a few hours, so those arteries stay open and an erection is easier to get and hold. Arousal still has to be there, and it eases the symptom while the dose is active rather than fixing the cause.
50mg, 100mg or 200mg — which strength?
All three strengths hold the same medicine in different amounts, and nothing else separates them. The 50mg and 100mg tablets come in packs of 12 to 120; 200mg packs run from 12 to 60. 100mg is the usual starting point, with 50mg below it and 200mg above, so matching the pack size to how often you expect to use it beats defaulting to the biggest box.

Most men get nothing worse than a headache, a flushed face, a stuffy nose or a brief dizzy spell, all gone as the dose wears off. Sudden loss of sight or hearing, or an erection still there after four hours, needs urgent treatment. Heavy drinking adds to headache and light-headedness.
