FAQ
Which Beclate Inhaler strength and pack sizes can I order?
Beclate Inhaler contains beclomethasone dipropionate. Pack sizes are 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 inhalers. Larger packs cost less per inhaler.
What arrives when I order Beclate Inhaler for Hong Kong?
Every order ships in plain, unbranded packaging with nothing on the outside about the contents. Tracked courier takes 5 to 9 business days with online tracking.
What other names is beclomethasone dipropionate sold under?
Beclate Inhaler is a branded generic of beclomethasone dipropionate, the ingredient in Beconase and Qvar. Beclomethasone dipropionate is also sold as Clenil Modulite. Here, beclomethasone dipropionate can be bought online as Beclate Inhaler. These are generics, not the original brand.
How long does Beclate Inhaler take to work?
It is not a quick fix. The anti-inflammatory effect builds up over days of regular use, and it can take a couple of weeks before you notice a real difference in how your chest feels. Keeping to the routine on good days is what makes that happen.
Can I use Beclate Inhaler when I have a cold?
Yes. A cold or flu is not a reason to stop, and carrying on keeps your airways settled while the infection passes. Needing your reliever much more often than usual points to an asthma flare-up rather than a problem with the preventer.
What does 200mcg mean on Beclate Inhaler?
The 200mcg is the amount of beclomethasone dipropionate in each puff, so it is the dose per puff and not the size of the pack. What you take in a day depends on how many puffs your routine involves, which is why one inhaler suits several different schedules.
Can I drink alcohol while using Beclate Inhaler?
Alcohol does not interact with inhaled beclomethasone, so an occasional drink does not clash with the inhaler. A drink can bring on wheeze or a cough in some people, though, so watch for that if you notice it.
Should I keep using Beclate Inhaler on days when I feel fine?
Yes. On a good day the inhaler is still doing its job: it stops symptoms from starting rather than fixing them once they have, so stopping when you feel well tends to bring the cough and tightness back.
About Beclate Inhaler
A preventer inhaler for asthma
Beclate Inhaler is a pressurised metered-dose inhaler for asthma, and each puff releases 200 micrograms (mcg) of beclomethasone dipropionate. The drug is a corticosteroid. In asthma the airway lining stays swollen and prone to mucus, and the steroid gradually brings that down, so wheeze and cough ease and nights get quieter. Think of it as the inhaler you use every day, not the one you grab mid-attack. Once breathlessness has started, a fast-acting reliever inhaler is the one that helps.
Getting the technique right
Beclate works on the airway lining itself, so it is used to a schedule rather than when you feel bad. Adults commonly take one or two puffs once or twice a day, at the same times each day, and the routine is the same whether or not you have symptoms. For each dose, shake the canister and breathe out fully. Seal your lips around the mouthpiece, press down as you start a slow, deep breath in, and hold that breath for several seconds. Afterwards rinse your mouth and spit; this is the step that keeps thrush and a scratchy voice away. A spacer, the plastic chamber that fits between inhaler and mouth, helps if pressing and breathing together feels fiddly, because more of the dose reaches the lungs and less lands at the back of the throat.
Side effects
The usual complaints are a sore or dry throat, hoarseness, an odd taste and headache, and they are more likely at higher doses. Regular use can also bring on thrush, white patches or soreness in the mouth and throat caused by a yeast; rinsing after each dose and using a spacer make it less likely. Years of high-dose treatment have been linked to raised eye pressure, cataracts, thinner bones and slightly slower growth in children. Wheezing or tightness that gets worse straight after a puff is rare, but it needs urgent help.
Other medicines and storage
Ritonavir and similar HIV medicines, and the antifungals ketoconazole and itraconazole, slow the breakdown of beclomethasone and can push its level in the body higher. Steroids taken as tablets or injections add to the effect of the inhaler. Store Beclate below 30°C, somewhere cool and out of direct light. The canister is pressurised: never puncture it or put it in a fire, even after it seems empty.
