FAQ
Which Celebrex strengths and pack sizes can I order?
100mg and 200mg capsules, in packs from 30 up to 360. They are generic celecoxib, not the original Celebrex, and a capsule costs less in the bigger packs.
How do I pay for Celebrex?
Visa, Mastercard or American Express on an encrypted page that keeps your card number off our servers, or Bitcoin or Ethereum if you would rather the payment stayed off your card.
What are the alternative names for Celebrex and celecoxib?
Celebrex and Celebra are brand names of celecoxib, which is also sold as Zycel. Here, celecoxib can be bought online as generic Celebrex, and also as celecoxib capsules. These are generics, not the original brand.
Can I take Celebrex with ibuprofen?
No. Ibuprofen, naproxen and aspirin for pain are all NSAIDs, like celecoxib. Taking one together with Celebrex gives little extra relief and makes an ulcer or stomach bleed more likely.
Can I drink alcohol with Celebrex?
Occasional drinking is unlikely to cause trouble, but heavy drinking is a different matter. Alcohol irritates the stomach lining, and with celecoxib on board the risk of an ulcer or a bleed goes up. The same goes for any NSAID.
Does Celebrex raise blood pressure?
It can. Celecoxib makes some people hold on to fluid, which shows up as puffy ankles or feet and can nudge blood pressure upward. Higher doses over a long stretch make it more likely.
How long can I take Celebrex?
It depends on why you are taking it. Period pain, a dental extraction or a strained back usually means days; arthritis is often managed over months or years. Long courses and bigger doses carry more of the stomach and heart risk.
Is Celebrex a blood thinner?
Not in the way warfarin is. Celecoxib is not an anticoagulant, but it can cause bleeding in the stomach or bowel, and alongside warfarin or another blood thinner that risk climbs sharply.
About Celebrex
What Celebrex is for
Celebrex is celecoxib in 100mg and 200mg capsules, and long-running joint disease is its main job: osteoarthritis (worn cartilage), rheumatoid arthritis (the immune system attacking the joint lining) and ankylosing spondylitis (inflammation that stiffens the spine). It also gets used for a shorter spell of pain, such as period cramps, a strained back, a sports injury, a tooth extraction or the days after an operation.
The shop also sells celecoxib capsules, the same 100mg and 200mg capsules under the plain ingredient name; the celecoxib page covers both packs.
Where it fits in a day
Morning stiffness is often what prompts a repeat order. A single 200mg capsule with breakfast suits many people; a twice-daily pattern of 100mg morning and evening is the other common way. Rheumatoid arthritis is usually handled with 100mg or 200mg twice a day. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Food barely changes how the dose behaves at these strengths, though anything higher sits more comfortably after a meal.
How celecoxib differs from older painkillers
Injured or inflamed tissue turns up production of an enzyme called COX-2, and that enzyme drives prostaglandins — chemical messengers that leave a joint swollen, hot and sore. Celecoxib blocks COX-2, so the joint calms rather than just the ache. Older painkillers such as ibuprofen and naproxen block COX-1 as well, the enzyme the stomach lining depends on, which is why celecoxib is gentler on the gut. Ulcers and bleeding are still possible, especially at higher doses taken over months.
What to watch for
Indigestion and heartburn turn up most often, along with an unsettled stomach, nausea, headache and dizziness.
Two problems deserve attention. One is an ulcer or bleeding in the stomach or bowel: vomit with blood in it or that looks like coffee grounds, black tarry stools, or stomach pain that suddenly worsens all need urgent treatment. The other is on the heart side: like other painkillers in its family, celecoxib lifts the risk of a heart attack or stroke, and that risk grows with bigger doses and longer courses. Sudden chest pain, a struggle to breathe, weakness down one side of the body or slurred speech are emergencies.
Mixing it with other medicines
A second anti-inflammatory on the same day adds little and doubles the gut risk, so ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac and painkilling doses of aspirin should stay out. A small daily aspirin for the heart is sometimes continued, though it still adds a little to the ulcer risk. Anyone on warfarin or another blood thinner, a steroid course, or an SSRI or SNRI antidepressant has a higher chance of stomach bleeding while taking celecoxib. Blood pressure medicines of the ACE inhibitor kind, water tablets such as furosemide, and lithium can all behave differently while celecoxib is on board.
