FAQ
What pack sizes does Flonase Nasal Spray come in?
Flonase Nasal Spray comes as a 50mcg spray in packs of 1, 3, 6 or 9. It is generic fluticasone, not the original Flonase Nasal Spray. Larger packs cost less per spray.
What arrives when I order Flonase Nasal Spray to Hong Kong?
A Flonase Nasal Spray order arrives as generic fluticasone spray in plain, unbranded packaging. Standard airmail is untracked and takes 14 to 21 business days, up to 30. Tracked courier takes 5 to 9 business days and includes online tracking.
Does Flonase Nasal Spray have other names?
Flonase, Cutivate and Flovent are brand names of fluticasone, which is also sold as Flixonase, Flixotide, Flomist and Flutivate. Here, fluticasone can be bought online as generic Flonase Nasal Spray. These are generics, not the original brand.
How long does Flonase Nasal Spray take to work?
A few days for sneezing and itching, and longer for a blocked nose to open. The effect builds with regular use rather than dose by dose, so give it several days of daily spraying before deciding, instead of judging it after one or two puffs.
Does Flonase Nasal Spray make you drowsy?
Not usually. The spray works inside the nose and very little reaches the rest of the body, so drowsiness is not one of its common effects. If you feel sleepy during allergy season, an antihistamine tablet taken at the same time is the likelier cause.
Can I use Flonase Nasal Spray every day?
Yes, daily use is how it is meant to work, through allergy season and for as long as your symptoms last. It builds up its effect rather than working dose by dose, so skipping days when you feel fine tends to bring the sneezing and congestion back.
What if I miss a day?
Take your next spray at the usual time and carry on — do not add an extra spray to catch up. Missing the odd day is unlikely to undo the effect. Tying the spray to a habit you already have, such as brushing your teeth, makes it easier to remember.
Is the other fluticasone product the same as Flonase Nasal Spray?
Same ingredient, different product. The nasal spray is used inside the nose for seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms; the other fluticasone listing in the shop is a skin-care product meant for use on the skin. Pick the form that suits where your symptoms are.
About Flonase Nasal Spray
What the spray is for
Flonase Nasal Spray is a fluticasone propionate nasal spray, 50mcg per spray. Fluticasone is a corticosteroid, and inside the nose it works locally: it damps down the inflammation in the nasal lining that pollen, dust mites, pet dander and mould set off. That is what makes it useful for seasonal allergies and for perennial rhinitis, the year-round version of the same problem. A blocked, runny, itchy nose and repeated sneezing are what it is aimed at. It is not a rescue spray for a nose that is completely blocked right now; it is used steadily to keep symptoms down.
How to use it, and how long it takes
Shake the bottle first and blow your nose gently. Tilt your head forward, put the nozzle just inside one nostril and aim it slightly outwards, towards the side wall rather than the middle of the nose — that angle lowers the chance of a nosebleed. Breathe out through your mouth, press the pump once, then do the same on the other side. One spray in each nostril once a day is the usual adult routine, at roughly the same time each day; some people are started on two sprays per nostril. Relief does not arrive in minutes. Give it several days of daily use before you judge it, and keep going once it starts working, because the symptoms come back when the spray stops.
Side effects worth knowing
Most people who notice anything get a headache, a dry or scratchy throat, an irritated nose or an odd taste or smell, and these often fade as the nose adjusts. Nosebleeds are the one to watch. Repeated or heavy ones mean the lining is irritated, and spraying more than the label allows only makes bleeding likelier without working any faster. Swelling of the face, lips or throat, or trouble breathing, is a severe allergic reaction and needs urgent treatment.
Packs and the other fluticasone product
Every bottle is 50mcg, and packs hold 1, 3, 6 or 9. A bottle is labelled with the number of metered sprays it contains, so your daily dose tells you how long a pack will run. The shop's other fluticasone product, Fluticasone Propionate, comes as rotacaps breathed into the lungs for asthma, so it is not the form to use in the nose. Compared with the brand name you may have seen before, the ingredient is the same fluticasone propionate; what changes is the name and the packaging, not the medicine.
