FAQ

Which Indapamide strengths and pack sizes can I order?

Indapamide comes as tablets in 1.5mg and 2.5mg. Packs range from 30 to 360 tablets for 1.5mg, and 30 to 180 tablets for 2.5mg. Larger packs cost less per tablet.

What happens if my Indapamide parcel goes missing?

If your parcel does not arrive within the delivery window, or arrives damaged, it is sent again free. If that is not possible, the order is refunded. You can track orders on the tracking page, and support answers 24/7 in English and Cantonese by live chat.

Which brand names does indapamide have?

Brand names for indapamide include Fludex, Lozol and Natrilix. Indapamide tablets are a pure generic indapamide product and are not any of those brands.

Can I drink alcohol with indapamide?

Alcohol can add to the dizziness and drowsiness indapamide causes in some people, and it may push your blood pressure lower than usual. An occasional drink is rarely an issue, but regular heavy drinking works against the tablet's purpose, since too much alcohol raises blood pressure over time.

What if I miss a dose of indapamide?

Take the missed tablet as soon as you remember on that day. If it is already close to the time of your next dose, leave the missed one out and carry on as usual — never take two tablets to make up for it.

Does indapamide make you urinate more?

Yes — that is how it works. Expect extra trips to the toilet for around six hours after each tablet, and expect them to settle after a few weeks as your body adjusts. Taking your dose in the morning keeps the busiest hours in the daytime.

Can I stop taking indapamide once my blood pressure is normal?

Usually not. A normal reading means the tablet is working. Come off it and pressure tends to climb back to its old level, often with no warning signs, because high blood pressure is rarely felt. So the tablet stays part of the day, good days included.

Does indapamide interact with other medicines?

Lithium levels can rise when it is taken with indapamide, and anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen can blunt its effect on blood pressure. Other blood pressure medicines add to the drop, so dizziness is more likely when several are used together.

About Indapamide

What indapamide tablets are for

Indapamide is a diuretic, or water tablet. It works on the kidneys, helping them pass more salt and water into the urine, so there is less fluid in the blood vessels and the pressure inside them falls. It is used for high blood pressure (hypertension) and for the swelling and fluid build-up that can come with heart failure. Left alone over years, high blood pressure strains the heart, brain, kidneys and eyes, which is why it is treated steadily rather than only when you feel unwell.

How to take it

Take one tablet each morning. Meals make no difference, so breakfast or no breakfast is your call. A morning dose also keeps the extra urination to daytime hours. Indapamide holds blood pressure down but does not cure it: stop the tablets and the reading creeps back, and that applies on good days too. Alcohol can add to drowsiness and push pressure lower.

Side effects

More urination is the one you notice first, heaviest in the first few hours after a dose, and usually calmer after a few weeks. Headache, dizziness, tiredness, weakness, cramp or tingling in the fingers and toes, and feeling tense or irritable are all reported. Standing up too quickly can leave you light-headed. Indapamide also flushes potassium out of the body, and low potassium may show up as muscle cramps or twitching, unusual thirst, a fluttering or uneven heartbeat, or simply feeling drained. A widespread itchy rash and weight dropping quickly for no clear reason are also possible effects. Difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling around the face or throat, needs emergency treatment.

1.5mg or 2.5mg?

Both strengths are taken once a day. The 1.5mg tablet comes in packs of 30 to 360 and the 2.5mg in packs of 30 to 180, so a long-term routine is easy to stock for. The indapamide page covers the ingredient and where it sits among blood pressure medicines.
