FAQ

Which Luzu 1% pack sizes can I order?

You can order Luzu 1% as 30g tubes in packs of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 tubes. It is generic luliconazole, not the original Luzu 1%. Larger packs cost less per tube.

How is Luzu 1% delivered to Hong Kong?

Luzu 1% orders to Hong Kong travel by tracked courier in 5 to 9 business days with online tracking. Every parcel arrives in plain, unbranded packaging with nothing on the outside about the contents. If a parcel does not arrive within the delivery window or arrives damaged, it is sent again free or refunded if that is not possible.

Does Luzu have other names?

Luzu is a brand name of luliconazole, which is also sold as Lulifin and Lulican. Here, luliconazole can be bought online as generic Luzu. These are generics, not the original brand.

How long does Luzu 1% take to work?

Itching and redness usually start easing within the first few days, but the fungus itself takes longer to clear. Jock itch and ringworm need a week of once-daily use; athlete's foot between the toes needs two. Judge how well it has worked at the end of the course, not after the first few applications.

Should I keep using Luzu 1% after the rash disappears?

Not yet. A rash that looks clear can still hold fungus, and that is why infections come back when people stop early. Seven days of use covers jock itch and ringworm; athlete's foot between the toes needs fourteen.

Is Luzu 1% a steroid cream?

No. Luliconazole is an azole antifungal and the cream contains no steroid. It works by interrupting the fungus's ability to build its cell membrane, so the infection cannot keep growing. A steroid cream does a different job: it calms inflammation rather than clearing an infection.

What does the 1% on the tube mean?

It is the amount of luliconazole in the cream: one part in a hundred by weight, mixed evenly through the base. That is the strength used for athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm, and it is the strength in every 30g tube of Luzu 1%.

Does Luzu 1% work on fungal nail infections?

Luzu 1% is for fungal infections of the skin — athlete's foot between the toes, jock itch and ringworm. It is not a treatment for a fungal nail infection; a thickened, discoloured nail needs a different medicine, because the infection sits inside the nail rather than on the skin.

About Luzu 1%

What Luzu 1% treats

Luzu 1% is a cream containing luliconazole at 1%, the strength used for fungal skin infections, supplied in 30g tubes. It treats athlete's foot (tinea pedis), the itchy, cracked skin between the toes; jock itch (tinea cruris) in the groin and buttock folds; and ringworm (tinea corporis), the ring-shaped scaly patches that appear on the body. Packs hold one to five tubes.

How luliconazole works on the fungus

The fungi behind athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm are dermatophytes, which live on keratin, the protein in the outer layer of skin. Luliconazole is an azole antifungal. It blocks the fungus from making ergosterol, a part of its cell membrane, so the fungus cannot grow and the rash clears as the skin renews. Itching tends to ease well before the fungus is gone, which is the reason to keep applying it for the full course.

Fitting the cream into your day

An evening works for most people: wash, dry the skin, then apply. A thin layer is enough, spread over the rash and about 2.5cm (an inch) of normal skin around it — fungi spread a little further than the visible patch. Wash your hands afterwards. Jock itch and ringworm need one application a day for a week; athlete's foot between the toes needs two weeks. The cream goes on the skin only: not in the eyes, nose or mouth, not inside the vagina, and not swallowed.

Side effects and when to stop

Most people feel nothing beyond a little stinging, itching or redness where the cream goes on; fewer than 1 in 100 reported it in trials, and it usually passes. Swelling of the lips, face or throat, spreading hives, or blisters outside the treated patch point to an allergic reaction, and call for urgent help. If luliconazole has ever caused you a bad reaction, leave this cream alone.

Missed days and storage

If a day slips by, apply the cream when you remember and then carry on as before; extra cream will not make up for the missed one. Keep the cap screwed on and store the tube somewhere cool and shaded — heat and steam are unkind to it. Do not pass the tube on to anyone else.
