If swallowing a hard tablet is not your thing, Viagra Soft is the version that is soft and chewable. The active ingredient is sildenafil, the same medicine as in standard Viagra, offered here in two strengths: 50mg and 100mg.
Sildenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. When you are sexually aroused it stops an enzyme from shutting off the signal that relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, so the erection comes more readily and holds. It does not raise desire, and with no stimulation nothing happens.
Using Viagra Soft
One tablet about an hour before sex, though it can be taken anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours ahead, and no more than once a day. After a large, fatty meal it starts later. A lot of alcohol raises the odds of headache, dizziness, a fast heartbeat and low blood pressure.
Between the two strengths, 100mg holds twice as much sildenafil as 50mg. Men who are new to sildenafil often begin on the lower strength and move up if they need to; the higher strength brings side effects more often.
What it can do to you
Headache, flushing, indigestion, a blocked nose and dizziness are the usual complaints, and some men notice a blue tinge to their vision for a short while. Rarely, an erection will not go away.
