Vardenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. Sexual stimulation makes the penis release a chemical that relaxes artery walls, and vardenafil stops that chemical being cleared too quickly, so the arteries stay open, blood pools in the tissue and an erection forms. Take away the stimulation and the effect fades.
How to take a Vilitra tablet
Vilitra goes in with a glass of water roughly an hour before sex. It goes down the same whether or not you have eaten, although a heavy, fatty meal can slow it, which is why many men eat lightly first. Medicines to keep apart
Vardenafil must not be combined with nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate) or with riociguat, since the combination can send blood pressure dangerously low. Nitrate poppers (amyl nitrate, butyl nitrate) belong to the same group. St John's wort can lower the amount of vardenafil in the body, while some antifungals, HIV medicines and the antibiotic clarithromycin push it higher.
Vilitra, Levitra and Levitra Soft
All three carry vardenafil; what differs is the brand, not the ingredient. Levitra is sold as 10mg, 20mg, 40mg and 60mg tablets, the same range as Vilitra. Levitra Soft comes as a 20mg soft tablet. Keep Vilitra in its blister at room temperature; the fridge is not needed.
